I was really upset to see how my grandmother’s wedding photos turned out. They were basic as hell and done by a friend of the groom and I KNOW I could’ve given them better images and I would have gotten PAID.
She handed me $20 after her makeup artist called in late just for telling me she needed me as a last minute mua and then cancelling on me.
A lot of people don’t look quite as good without their makeup, in photographs especially. You can be naturally beautiful, yes, but you’ll likely still have minor imperfections solvable by makeup.
So a lot of those photos you see of people with “minimal” or no makeup looking flawless— many of those looks are created by using lots of makeup.
Mind you, this is mainly for photos. Our eyes don’t capture images like cameras do, so in person you also probably look better. Many folks don’t take good photos. If you’ll believe it, sometimes I’m one of those people.
Any good photographer will tell you that they have to take a shit ton of photos to find a few good, usable ones.
My Canon 40D has been doing this funky thing the past four days where I’ll press down the button half way to focus and I’ll get some red focus points and hear the beeps, but when I try to press down further I can’t and the shutter just won’t release. I really don’t know the settings that well so I don’t think I did anything wrong but I can’t be positive. I just don’t know how to get the shutter to release so I can take a damn photo.
